Cozy and smart, yet eclectic and colorful, the Voyager Vest will be your layering companion throughout the year. Its boxy, slightly cropped shape is a cinch to style – layer it over a basic white tee or add some prints and patterns for even more fun. The body of the vest is worked in a slip stitch pattern that resembles woven fabric and looks amazing in coordinating colors of warm, woolly Cobblestone. The finishing touch is the broad ribbing along the armholes and neckband, adding an element of color-blocking to this very variegated piece.

PATTERN NOTES This vest is knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. The front and back are separated at the underarms and worked flat, separately. The shoulders are joined with the three-needle bind-off. Stitches for the neckband and armhole edging are picked up and worked in the round during finishing. A slip stitch pattern decorates the body of this vest. The appearance of the slip stitch pattern changes slightly when you separate the front and back due to the color pooling effect of the yarn, creating a fun, whimsical look. In this pattern, work all slipped stitches purlwise.
The Voyager Vest is available as part of the e-book Free Spirit and as an individual pattern on Ravelry.
