MATERIALS Universal Yarn Deluxe DK Superwash (100% superwash wool; 100 g/284 yds) • 842 Oatmeal Heather – 2 skeins Needles: Needle A - US Size 6 (4 mm) 16” circular (for hat) and set of DPNs or your preferred needle for working small circumferences or size needed to obtain gauge Needle B - US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 16” circular (for hat brim) and set of DPNs (for mitten hands) or your preferred needle for working small circumferences Needle C - US Size 3 (3.25 mm) set of DPNs (for mitten cuffs) or your preferred needle for working small circumferences Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, stitch holders or waste yarn
GAUGE 22 sts x 30 rnds = 4” in Stockinette stitch (St st) Save time, check your gauge.
PATTERN NOTES The Snow Day Hat is knit in the round from the bottom-up. The Snow Day Mittens are also knit in the round from the bottom-up. Stitches are increased for the thumb, then the thumb stitches are placed on hold and the hand is completed separately. Then, thumb stitches are picked back up and worked in the round
