Macadam

Macadam
Designed by Rachel Brockman

The gentle slope of Macadam’s dolman sleeves and all-over texture reminds us of a journey down a beautiful country road. Slip stitches, knits, and purls are used to create the intriguing yet simple stitch pattern. A graceful scoop neck is perfect for layering and the tapered, three-quarter length sleeves in soothing stockinette balance out the volume of the body. The silhouette is relaxed but it can easily be worn as a more elegant piece.

PATTERN NOTES
Macadam features dolman sleeves and therefore should be worn with a significant amount of positive ease at the bust. For best fit, select a size with a Center Back to Cuff measurement closest to your own or the size with a Hem Circumference approx. 2-5” larger than your hip measurement.

This sweater is knit flat from the bottom up and seamed. Stitches are increased from the hem to the underarms and the shoulders are shaped using gradual bind-offs. Stitches for the neckband are picked up and a few rows of Stockinette stitch are worked in the round to create the rolled neckline. We recommend using the Sloped bind-off for all neck and shoulder shaping.

Macadam is available as part of e-book Elevated Essentials, and as an individual pattern through Ravelry.
