Stranded colorwork worked flat is used to create the leaf motif at the top of the body. Directional increases shape the armholes with a built-in I-cord for a tidy finish. The front stitches are placed on hold and then the Back is worked to the underarms. The Front and Back pieces are then joined and worked in the round until the leg openings. Then, the piece is separated again and the leg openings are worked flat, separately. Finally, stitches for the straps are picked up at the top of the back and are worked flat. In this pattern, work all slipped stitches purlwise. The hat is knit from the top down with spiral increases to shape the crown and brim. The colorwork motif for both pieces is written and charted for your convenience.
The Bilberry Set is available as part of the e-book Precious Picnic and as an individual pattern on Ravelry.
