Day 7 of 12 Days of Winter Kit Collection - Series 7 for 2023
Snow Day Hat and Mittens
Designed by Jennifer Sadler
Ah – the anticipation of a snow day! Snow falling steadily outside, piling on the ground. People excitedly anticipate whether school or work is on – or if you get to spend a cozy day at home. Before stepping out into the cold to take a walk, shovel snow, or build a snowman, you must be sure to bundle up! What could be better than a matching hat and mitten set that features faux-flakes to celebrate a snow day? These mitts are just as warm and cozy as before, but reimagined for 2023, we’ve added a larger size for the mittens and adjusted the yarn to a frosty shade of blue.

The Snow Day Hat is knit in the round from the bottom up. The Snow Day Mittens are also knit in the round from the bottom up. Stitches are increased for the thumb, then the thumb stitches are placed on hold and the hand is completed separately. Then, thumb stitches are picked back up and worked in the round.
