Decorating your home for the holidays is always an exciting way to kick off the season. Every festive accessory adds a touch of comfort and joy. The beautiful colorwork of the Yuletide Pillow Cover is no exception. Yarn Vibes’ Cliffs of Moher yarn is the perfect match for stitch definition and colorwork, as demonstrated with the textural diamonds and vibrant stranded knitting. PATTERN NOTES
These pillows are worked in the round from side to side. Stitches are cast on and worked in the round in one piece. A diamond motif decorates each end of the pillow, and stranded colorwork decorates the center. After the correct length is achieved, stitches on one end are grafted together. A zipper is installed along the cast-on edge of the pillow.
This pattern uses the stranded method for colorwork. There are several instances in which you must carry one color across long distances. Be sure to trap your floats every 4-5 stitches to prevent puckering in the fabric. Please note that the stranded colorwork motif is charted only. Change colors as indicated on charts.
