Picotee

Designed by Rachel Brockman

Whether you love to garden or simply appreciate the natural beauty of flowers, it’s impossible not to feel dazzled by the diversity of their shapes and colors. Picotee generally refers to flower petals that are light, with different colors along the edges. Often this patterning is found on flowers like carnations and cosmos. The intarsia motif in the Picotee pullover is a loose interpretation, with petals that alternate colors instead. It’s the centerpiece of the design, but this piece gets even sweeter thanks to its tailored fit. Picotee features set-in sleeves, A-line waist shaping, and a cozy folded neckband. We’re certain you’ll turn to this sweater again and again!

PATTERN NOTES
This sweater is knit flat from the bottom up and seamed. It features set-in sleeves. Stitches for the folded neckband are picked up and knit in the round, then it is folded inward and secured to the base of the picked-up edge using the three-needle bind-off.

This sweater uses the Intarsia method for colorwork. The intarsia pattern is charted only. When switching to a new color in the same row, bring the new color up and around the previous color to prevent holes from forming in the work. Join colors B through E as indicated in Floral Chart.

This sweater is intended to be worn with approximately 2-4” of positive ease.

Picotee is available as part of e-book Fall Florals, and as an individual pattern through Ravelry.
