PATTERN NOTES
This cowl is knit in the round from the top down. Stitches for the circumference are cast on and worked in the round to the center, then the front and back are separated, and the Front is worked flat. After completing the Front, stitches are picked up for the lower edging and worked in the round.
In this pattern, slip all sts purlwise with yarn held in back on RS rows/rounds and with yarn held in front on WS rows.
ERRATA
6/1/23
In the written instructions for the V-Twist (worked flat) pattern, there were some typos in which knit stitches should have been purl stitches. This error occurred on Rows 3, 5, 7, and 9. These rows have been corrected as follows:
Row 3: * K2, sl 1, p1, sl 1, k4, sl 1, p1, sl 1, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 5: * K3, sl 1, p1, sl 1, k2, sl 1, p1, sl 1, k2; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 7: * K4, sl 1, p1, [sl 1] 2 times, p1, sl 1, k3; rep from * to lst st, k1.
Row 9: * K5, sl 1, p1, [sl 1] 2 times, k4; rep from * to last st, k1.
Per suggestions from our customers, we have adjusted the "Easy" difficulty level to "Intermediate". We have also included a note clarifying how to maintain the V-Twist pattern as you shape the Front of the cowl. It reads as follows: Note 2: Maintain V-Twist patt as est’d throughout Front Shaping. If there are not enough stitches to complete a LT, LPT, RT, or RPT, work these extra stitches in reverse stockinette stitch instead.
